Does anyone know who accepts under £1 debit card transactions

A bit off topic, but I have notice that if I spend on my Amex card in:
Sainsburys - Takes 5 days to debit
Morrisons - Takes 7 days to debit
Tesco - Takes 3 days to debit
WH Smith - Up to 2 weeks to debit
Boots - Never Authorises and takes 7 days to debit.
Whilst this may 'Sound Good', its awkward waiting some times, much prefer if they come off quickly and it keeps my accounts straight and not weeks later in some cases.
Not sure why Amex do this as if I use my Mastercard in the same places it is off in days.0
