    No worries.

I found it hard to believe when mine dropped off! Great feeling isn't it.

One thing I would suggest is checking the other CRA's to make sure they have dropped off them aswell

If you mean ' Have the debts gone?' then No..they haven't. You can still be chased for them. As they have disappeared off your credit file I assume the CCJ was granted over 6 years ago. Whoever the debt is owed to can still apply to the Court for the CCJ to be 'reinstated' although they would have to show good reason why they have not contacted you to date.

A bit more info re timescales/type of debt/last contact/last payment would help for you to get a full answer.

The 3 CRA's don't always have the same information. You need to get reports from all 3, Experian, Equifax and Call Credit, before deciding to crack open the fizzy stuff. They could well be on one or both of the other 2 (unless they are over 6 years old, then they shouldn't be on any of them).
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

their both well over 6 years old, one has just started to get back in touch in the last 3 weeks (2 letters from mckenzie hall then one from face2face saying mckenzie hall has passed it to them) other than that ive heard nothing, this debt was for a storecard i had when i was 5 months pregant, my daughter is now 8, the other one is about the same age, if not older.

i tried to sign up with equifax and they asked me questions about catalogues from 2002 but tbh i cant remember that far back so i couldnt complete the process

Get statutory reports then. £2 a copy. The links are on the CRA websites.

If they're starting to get in touch again , do not admit any liability. Send the 'prove it' letter and they'll most likely go away because they won't have any paperwork to prove the debt is yours. If they reply send the 'statute barred' letter.

If they were to try to 'reinstate' any CCJ they would have to show good reason why it has taken so long to get hold of you. If you have constantly changed address/moved abroad and made yourself hard to find they may have just cause.....but the courts tend to tell them to 'get lost' after such a long period of time.

Just because the DEBT was over 8 years old does not mean the CCJ was... As mentioned CCJs can be re-instated if the creditor can prove that they did everything to find you but you intentionally hid/ran away/etc - however they would need to show this to the court.
