Ex's bills in my name

I didn't know where to post this
I have been too soft and stupd - and let my ex put some of his bills in my name, as he had a bad credit.
Once the bills were established, he took over the payment with his bank details, but they are still in my name.
He has now cancelled the payments - and I am receiving the bills!
He will not talk to me - and I do not how to solve this
I have been stupid and naive - even though friends and family warned me
Any advice would be most welcom

Hand yourself in to the police as someone who may have been a party to obtaining goods or services by deception. At the very worse, you might have to spend a few months in one of Her Majesty's new hotels.0

What kind of bills are you talking about?

With the TV surely you can just cancel the licence? Explain you do not live in the property and show that where you do live already has one? With the mobile, again I think you have to cancel otherwise you will be liable for what he's spending.0

Mobile phone and television
Well start by cancelling the mobile contract - if you are stuck in a contract, ask them to send you a new SIM card - tell them yours has been lost - then at least ex can't run up hugh bills. At the very least get it barred so he cannot use it.
As for the TV - do you mean something like sky? Virgin? If so get the contract switched to your address - and reduce to the basic package if you cannot cancel (cancel when out of contract)
If you mean an actual TV on a hire purchase agreement - theis could be more tricky, and I'm not sure about this.
Can you clarify the type of bills you mean please?

I don't think your stupid. We've all done things which seemed appropriate at the time and lived to regret. I balance transferred some of my ex's debt onto a credit card in my name, only for him to leave me (and the debt which was several £thousand). Nothing I could do, just pay it off and move on. I thought I was in a strong loving relationship but alas we were not.0 -

Yep - mobile phone and Sky
He has cancelled the bills - but I have the outstanding last bills sent to me.
He cancelled the direct debits - so money is owed.
Sorry for confusion everybody. I thought that I was being helpful, where is seems that I have just been used0 -

Thank you for your supportive words, and I am sorry that this has happened to you.
It just goes to show - how people you thought you knew can turn0
