cc cleaner wont update

I have recently installed avast and now cc cleaner and smart defrag will not update.
i press updates and the internet explorer activates but then just sits there with a blank page trying to connect... any ideas please thanks

which firewall are you using?

Did you uninstall comodo? Sunbelt?

Wouldn't bother with smart defrag personally (or superantispyware)

You always can update ccleaner manually assuming you haven't got remnants/after effects of a virus that may have changed you IE proxy

Don't use Avast so can't help there, my Ccleaner has just been updated to 3.05.1408.
They only update every month or so so i guess you'll have to manually check, or do you mean you can't download updated versions as well?

i did have comodo but I've uninstalled it and i use windows firewall
