First Credit Card - 0% Purchases Help?

Hey All,

I'm looking at getting a credit card to make a purchase, I'm a tad confused by the 0% purchase offers so I'm looking for someone to explain if they can.

Santander offer their "Zero credit card" which offers 0% on purchases for 6 months, my query is if I make a purchase say £500 and pay £100 a month for 5 months will the outstanding balance gain interest or will it be 0% over that period?

Thanks!

Yes, you are right, you could also pay the minimu payment for 5 months then pay the whole lot off just before the 6 months are up.

I have just got a Halifax Card and am making a purchase of £2,700 kitchen. I could withdraw the money from my ISA but that would lose me interest on the whole lot. I intend to pay the minimum for 10/11 months and then save up over the next 10 months (again getting interest on this) and then pay it of just before the 0% expires.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Have you any history in managing credit cards by any chance?
