New phone, old computer - memory card compatibility

I've just bought a new phone which takes a microSD or micro SDHC memory card up to 8MB. My six-year old Dell has slots (previously unused!) labelled:
SecureDigital Card (SD) and MultiMediaCard (MMC) and
Memory Stick (MS/MS Pro)
Will the Dell take a SDHC card or do I need to stick to SD to achieve compatibility? Many thanks.

at a guess I would say the computer cannot read SDHC with it's inbuilt reader. (also you would need an adaptor to get the microSD card into the big SD card slot.
BUT with the memory card in the phone you will be able to connect the phone to the computer with a USB lead (prob came in the box) and access the microSD card exactly like a USB pen drive (to add music/get photos off, ect.). (what phone is it?)
and since normal SD cards top out at 2GB, if you want to have more than 2GB you will have to get an SDHC card.0 -
Thanks, jayme1. It is a Samsung Ch@t - I haven't received it yet, so not sure if there will be a USB lead in the box.
So if I want an 8GB card I can connect to my computer via the USB?0 -
according to the samsung spec sheet it has a USB port on top and can be connected to the computer to transfer files, so you should be able to just use the phone as a big USB drive to add files.0
