How many people actually need to move
Comments
-
I moved to the catchment area of the best non fee paying school. Not easy but doable.0

Not myself but two of my friends have made moves recently that they *needed* to do. One was due to a relationship break up, and the other was due to having to move closer to a sick parent. Both selling in London - the one in West London sold in just days, the one in East London took about 9 months.0

I dont think anyone really needs to move, apart from people who have to has they cant afford to keep their home.
With all the mortgage help now and the low interest rates i cant see many people being forced to sell.
A lot of people are just not prepared to accept low offersso they will just hang on, people go on about massive drops, we havent seen much by us and its obvious the sellers are not that desperate as they are not accepting any low offers.
maybe it may change in the futures its still very slow by us and it been slow for the last 3 years..0 -

There are two thousand people a day who no longer care if they are home owners, or what their house is worth, because they have died.
If "boy George" fails to get his deficit under control, the "gnomes of Zurich" will put interest rates up to Greek/Irish/Portuguese/Spanish(?) levels.0 -

Not necessarily true - moving and selling are not the same thing. I had to move as husband's job transferred to another country! Commuting several thousand miles wasn't really an option. But that didn't mean I had to sell in a hurry.
Now I have sold in the UK, and am looking to buy a house in the country we're currently living in - frustrating as we can't find anything suitable. We need to move this time as our rented place is tiny, overpriced and driving us crazy!0 -

Not true, see above. I know some people's marriages are part time but I never went into my marriage for that, therefore I need to move and it has nothing to do with mortgage payments.0 -
Death, Debt & Divorce the three drivers of forced sales; the first two can give nice clean no chain sales at realistic prices. The third can get very messy, as the two halves of a couple realise they could be signing up to a life of comparative poverty.0

I need to move because of the inconsiderate people above me and the lack of action and care from the landlord and management company,i need to go yesterday, anyone want to buy a flat?0
