Spray painting radiator covers

Quick question... I have bought a new house, the decorating taste isn't to my liking and I want freshen it up. I'm planning on taking the radiator covers off and spraying them with white matt paint (currently light plum in centre, white around outside). Is this a good idea? Don't want the holes all blocking up with paint and this seemed and quick and easy solution to getting an even cover - anybody else used these paints in a spray? Sorry if this is a silly question - you can probably tell I am a total DIY novice!

TIA.

Spary can paint is expensive and to change from a dark colour to white would take a few coats, plus trying to spray the edges of the cut outs can easily lead to build up of paint and runs. Better to apply with a brush in the cut out edges and finish off with a small fom roller. Applied sparingly with at least 2 coats will give an even finish.

Appreciate the advice, I will do that. Spray painting seemed like an easy / lazy approach, but I want it to look good so will use a brush, thanks.

Radiator paint and brush is best, it withstands the heat and stays looking fresh for longer. Ordinary white paint quickly turns yellowish
I agree, spray paint not a good idea.

Have you thought of radiator cabinets? Expensive but gorgeous! You can get white ones too.
