Is their any point in checking the spreadsheet tonight for shopping tomorrow? Won't you just have to check everything again on the Asda and Tesco websites themselves before you go shopping tomorrow as prices may be different tomorrow. Or am I missing something?

I always check as they have been changing prices left right and centre. I'm not sure if there will be price changes tonight or tom for both Tesco and Asda

    You could just buy 3 x 100g Gold Blends...

    Worth doing the math :D:D:D:D:D

Highland Lass - I have been doing this, posted about it earlier on....at least two weeks ago! But this thing moves so fast its easy to get behind! I have missed literally hundreds of pages this week:o

sirbrainy - maybe it is because we like normal Nescafe? It is the only coffee I enjoy drinking! Gold Blend doesn't do it for me.

For me, the very best part of this promotion is when you get a good discount on your USUAL shopping. A 200g plus 100g free for only a pound more than the average price of a 100g jar.......I have four in my cupboard and gave one away to my BF!

    Happy times!:T

why cant you all see that the spreadsheet is going to kill this promotion off FAST!

I dont think so - as has been said before this promotion probably works on the whole for Tesco as
    -it gets more footfall
-people do their other usual shops (as it is more convenient than making a trip to another supermarket)
-people more likely to up-buy (i.e brand instead of supermarket own)
-people more likely to buy treats

We are just being savvy MSE'rs as always and making sure we dont fall into the traps:D

I always check my prices on As & Ts website just before i shop THEN i make my list

    hth
    Shop one - A vs T
    Shop two - A vs W
    And then repeat :j:j:j
    & now add - A vs S
What the heck A vs the world :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I Agree exactly... I have changed to some named brands but all my DTD has been for things we normally eat/use.

we are eating some strange meals around DTD purchases but still nothing outragous.

Although the cats are really happy with Iams instead of own brand, so thanks to whoever originally found that. :T

absolutely, me too, just wanted to check if some things I wanted were there, so I could double check in the morning, if they were not working anymore tonight there would be no point...:)

i do agree with what you're saying....

...BUT the only problem is that as soon as you delete one, then another spreadsheet will pop up from somewhere else.

there are also a couple of sites appearing with DTD price lists; the prime example being the 'logicalinternetsolution' one which was mentioned in the press.

there's not much that we can do really.

personally, i'm gonna enjoy the promotion while it lasts.

Posted this previously - all IMHO of course ;)

Going to say this again as I know it's impossible to keep up with the posts in this thread, but to those worrying about the offer being pulled due to the spreadsheet....

Think logically - whats easier for Tesco to do.... Promise to beat ASDA's prices, then a month later turn around and admit they can't and pull the entire offer.... or....

Look at the sheet and simply reduce the prices on it to match ASDA there by halting every single one of us in our tracks, without having the public humiliation of ASDA winning the battle.

Bottom line IMHO is that we have made it incredibly easy for Tesco to stop this from happening, but they havent done a thing to stop it so just how concerned are they?? I still think when they are charging a couple of quid more than Asda on some items that they are making more money by leaving the price as is and letting millions of consumers over pay for the item while just hundreds (who use DTD) save on it than they would do by reducing the item to same price and lose the current mark up on EVERY SINGLE CUSTOMER.

ONny IMO of course, but seems logical to leave it as is to me... :D
