  • Oh dear! I have 2 little boys (both under 2) and have listened to them squabbling all day over who loves Fireman Sam more and whose T shirt had more pasta down it (this is apparently impressive to them)...so I would love it if everyone could stop nitpicking and just drop it. We are all benefiting. If people wish to talk about things they are doing let them. I don't see why involving ourselves in what others do is so important. Everyone has different moral codes and reads rules differently. Leave them to it. This deal will end no matter what we do. Some people may end up in jail doing a life stretch for returning roasting pans, while others will be giving bottles of free wine to their grandma's for Christmas until 3011. Please can we all just play nice?

Sorry but I don't think this is correct.

A calendar month would be one month, so you can claim £100 for March, £100 for April, £100 for May, etc.

A calendar month starts on the first day of the month and finishes on the last day.

They haven't worded it well. The definition is

'A period extending from a date in one calendar month to the corresponding date in the following month'

But when does the calendar month start?
Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies

No problem - I was just wondering if anyone had had success with a 'defaced' receipt. Next time I go I shall try to be quicker off the mark with taking it before they get their grubby mitts on it!!

    Thanks Kate.

This is such a superb promotion that I am perhaps over-zealous in watching for attempts at underhand tactics. I was absolutely wrong in your case. Sorry, again.

To be honest with your query - I would just take it on the chin! You win some and you lose some and my own view is that it is not worth antagonizing any of the staff. There is still loads of opportunity so long as the promotion runs.

I'm taking it from the first day of a month to the last day of a month, as that it the way most businesses in my experience (having handed in my notice in on a few occassions to change jobs) treat a calendar month.

If they did that to me I would be furious. It is clearly false advertising if they are advertising to give DTD on any good that ASDA is cheaper than them. They should not just be allowed to pick and choose.

1st) I would call up CS and ask to be put through to manager straight away and argue my case with them
2nd) If I got nowhere (likely) I would be in contact with head office

Way over the top for a very minor purchase! We all know by now that not EVERYTHING is matched - and, personally, I reckon we just have to put up with it cos it really isn't worth making a huge fuss over small items. Tesco have never been too hot on their advertising, lets just be grateful we are all doinf so well ,most of the time, out of this promotion.

Yes, I wouldn't bother complaining. But I am returning mine. Naughty Tesco!
