Thorpe Park or Chessington WOA for a near 4 year old

I'm thinking about whether either of these is any good for us as they are both circa 45 minutes drive from where I live. Obviously our child cannot use any large rides and neither would we but we have some ticket discounts and wonder whether either has sufficient value to go with a 4 year old child ?

If you ain't 1.40m, don't bother with Thorpe Park. Once you are 1.40m, don't bother going to Chessington. That is my opinion anyway!
Have a look at Chessington website and the various heigt requirements. Chessington has animals etc as well. So if your kid is tall enough for a few rides (should be, it is aimed at children), combined with the zoo, worth a go imo.0 -
Thanks.
Yeah, she's under 1.4m, around the 98/102 area. It was just the possibility of a cheap (ish) day out.0 -
Have a look through the Chessington site. Ride listing is below.

Not going on all the rides, but could get on the pirate ship and runaway mine train plus a few others. After that, all the animals, penguins etc.
If you have it cheap and go on a day that isn't too busy, would be well worth it imo. Just don't got to Thorpe Park, at about 1m, I'm not actually sure there is a single ride they could go on.0 -
Thorpe Park is really aimed at teenagers and has little there for younger children. In the summer the small beach type pool area is fun and a small selection of rides they can go on, Chessington or Legaolnad are more sutiable for the younger children as have lots to do a both. CHessington is fun because you get the zoo bit and animal shows as well as the rides. Guillivers Theme park at Milton Keynes also has a lot of things for younger children as aimed at the uner 11s-is a lot cheaper and smaller so easy to get a lot of things done.0

Chessington is better to take a 4 year old in my opinion.
Thorpe park has much bigger rides but chessington has alot more to offer a 4 year old, legoland is also great for little ones but have to wait longer for rides0 -
Chessington is much better as you can see the Tigers and other animals if the rides all get too hectic.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

Yeah Thorpe Park has some rides for the younger ones, but the zoo at Chessington is a good idea for a 4 year old. I was there at the weekend and they have loads of animals including ostriches, zebras, tigers, meerkats, lions, monkeys as well as a Sealife. If you go in next few weeks you can see the recently born baby monkeys. We saw them last week they were so cute! A fair few animals were born this month.0
