Windowsox

Hi
Wasn't sure whether to post this in the family or motoring sections.

I'm considering buying some Windowsox for the car, we will be driving to France and these look good for the kids (spf factor) and also allow them to watch their DVD players BUT are they noisy/do they flap in the wind when travelling at speed on the motorway?
I know the slightly cheaper Outlook Autoshades can have this problem, but there aren't a lot of reviews for the windowsox.

:money:also are there any codes about to get them cheaper?:money:

We didn't find them noisy but we didn't like ours as they black out the window so much that they made it difficult to see when you look back to see if any cars are coming to overtake.

We love our windowsox. They are perfect and block out excessive sunlight. Living in Saudi Arabia we use them all the time and they cause no noise (or not enough to notice). I'm not sure if this is true if you have your windows open (something you just can't do here most of the time due to the extreme heat).

I cannot comment about blocking the drivers vision (as women are not allowed to drive here!) but my husband has mentioned having to be extra careful when changing lane, etc.

I think they are perfect and the kids are extremely comfortable in the back as the sullight here is constant during the day.

    Hope that helps.

  • Our windowsox are fab. They were used an awful lot when my babies were facing backwards and always getting sun in eyes.

It can obscure vision if relying on looking backwards to see cars, but we don't use them when just doing short town journeys, we use them for the motorway, when all the mirrors are used.

If you have the radio off and everyone is silent, then you might hear the odd flap noise, no louder than a faint buzz of a bee. They fit very snuggly so haven't had any problems with them.

Do make sure they come off at night so the dew doesn't stretch them. Also don't drive with them in the dark.

Fantastic also for when my DD was napping in the car in the summer, we could roll the window down and get a breeze in without worrying about bugs getting in.
