Great news UM - I really hope that your OH continues to gain strength now he's back home with you. So glad to read your news.

Dawnie - Im so sorry about all the troubles you've been having surrounding your housing situation. Does your local council have a contact for you that can intervene if your landlord does not keep his property up to spec. I know our local council have someone who can get involved if a rented property is not repaired adequately and promptly. If not, what about your local MP, Ive used ours for CSA issues in the past and have found him to be very helpful. I do hope you get some peace of mind with it all soon.

and PC - again lovely news and what a gorgeous picture. Welcome to the World (and MSE) baby Aris. He's lush! Feeling clucky now! I just love new babies.

Had a great day wombling yesterday, my assorted haul has netted me £15.53 in vouchers to use (doubled up with Tesco thats over £30 in total). Got a few dtd vouchers to use up and awaiting one more. Thats next week's shop sorted.

Was talking to a mum at school today whose husband has just been made redundant and I sympathised (as my OH has had all overtime cut and it hurts like hell - financially) she was panicking about food shopping and I asked her if she'd thought of coupon use and she dismissed it - humph, who would use a coupon? I will just shop in Lidl. I suggested Lidl was not always cheapest and coupons worked darn well for me. When I explained that there were free products to be had and I reeled a few off - finish, milky buttons, philli, go cat, huggies and some ones that have been and gone, she looked at me as if Im mad and had a good reason not to buy any of the above (no dishwasher/no cat/no baby/allergy to choc/cheese) blah, blah.

So my friends, I did try to convert the unbelieving to no avail. Don't know why I bother. Looks like my local boot sale spot selling finish & huggies kits mountains will be safe for a while then!

Kids break up from school tomorrow and will have to consider bribery I suspect if I want to continue wombling successfully. This spring weather makes people very careless with their receipts - flying about everywhere. lol.

I have had a similar experience M A G - I tried to help a newly redundant friend who was worried about his finances and you would have thought I had developed two heads lol also said he did not have the time to sit messing about with coupons etc. I ask you now would have been the perfect time to get used to it, I would have thought.:(:(:(

lol. Even though I said I love new babies - truly - honest indian - I don't have 26! My perfect job though would be as a doula.

Despite my kids' embarrassment at my wombling "bend and snap" manouevre (remember Elle from Legally Blonde?) they are catching on well, DD3 on way to school earlier this week noticed a penny on the pavement - look, mum, roadkill.

Its good to be in the company of like minded friends on here, who share the same passions (coupons and getting one over on the supermarket) - I can honestly say none of my friends here in the real world either care or understand.
Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

My alphabet-girls are with me every step of the way x

    Ditto my thoughts M A G....

Now a days I don't try to convince anyone regarding "coupon value", as sadly, it gets neglected ...:o:o:o:o leaving us feeling awkward..:(

Know what you mean about people not really believing how good DTD and moc use is, and how reluctant they are to make the effort....their loss....I do try but am getting weary of people thinking £20 isn't worth the effort....more fools them is what I say....
My holiday deposit was £500, now if this promo will just last 5 months , then that's that paid fo, if it lasts longer, even better....also just realised Consumer Pulse offer Thomas Cook vouchers, will use £100 worth of those towards the balance when it is due....should end up a bargain holiday even without T's deals....

Not having any luck with the Thorntons links to print the moc...getting file corrupt( or words to that effect)...anyone got a link that works please?...tried searching on the email they just sent me but cannot for the life of me see it....

Wonder why it won't work for me...will try PC and hubby's laptop...

My friend who only tried the Velvet comp a few times has received a very shirty letter from them informing her they will not pay out as she had entered more than once on one day...she was claiming £5 with a promo pack and then a few days later £1 with a non promo pack....she tried at the most twice in one day, as she only has 2 email addresses and refuses to have Hotmail or Gmail ones....

    Hello Everyone :D

Been lurking for a while, but thought I'd let you know about the letter I got from Velvet

"As you will be aware promotional packs state clearly that the promotion is limited to one entry per household per day, and it appears that your household has made entries in excess of this limit.
Therefore after full consideration of the circumstances and in consultaion with the Institute of Promotional Marketing who have confirmed that we are acting within the terms and conditions of the promotion we regret to advise you are unable to claim your prize...."

I claimed £5.. after using a couple of different email addys:o
