    Evening All!

I went wombling at Asda this afternoon. Was just edging my way towards a very long receipt when ANOTHER WOMBLER picked it up! Come on - who was it?!!!! Still, did find 2 others. One was worth £3+, the other I'll find out tomorrow.

    wasn't me! Honest indian!

:j great little womble. Iv'e woken up to a very sore troat but think i may pop to A later. Also is anyone using the apg in T aswell as A?

Yes, I have my wombling and processing of vouchers down to a t.
I use my voucher first in Asda and in my store they usually don't bother to sign the receipt then back to car. Get out the second copy and attach it to receipt(s) and head off to Tesco (less than a mile). Tesco, yes, mine scribble all over it as well, like toddlers in a playgroup and I always ask for its return and then bin them. If my Asda do sign the receipt and its near the top I just tear it off, if not I have an internal dilemma depending on value of voucher whether I "go for it" with Tesco. Haven't had any problems yet.

Def make hay while the sun shines with this promo as probably Tesco will stop taking Apgs soon.

My only worry now that "wombling" has been highlighted in mse news flash that despite Asda & Tesco both saying they are ok with it that it might get frowned upon. Ive always been a bit of a wombler - I remember the early days of boots advantage card before they validated receipts electronically. I regularly gained many points from presenting wombled receipts. Also Ive occasionally found a large receipt in Sains when no one has used a nectar card and had the points added on. However, I don't go mad - slow and steady not to draw attention.

Personally, I really don't see a problem with wombling. Whats one persons trash is another's treasure.

Supermarkets are so up their own bottoms these days. For god's sake - look at the world's problems and they stress about people voting with their feet when a promotion is on. Its their policy after all and their promo. I know its the greedy few who ruin things but there's always going to be people who take things to the edge and beyond, with the massive profits all these big guys make promotions like these even being mis-used by a minority, still make them ker-ching with their off-shore banks. Sorry, myalphabetgirls is struggling with achy feet climbing down off soap box. mini rant over.

    Long live wombles, I say!
Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

When will T's staff realise that it is peeps like us/ you that help to pay their wages? We all know that T's don't pay their staff well but really - you are wrong there Sis, T pay very good rate!

People like me help pay their wages? :rotfl::rotfl:don't think they can survive with couple of quids from me!!!:D As for wages T is generous with that : 18yrs old can earn from £7/hr onwards, Old trout/staff earn £8/£9 onwards, plus time & a half on Saturday & double time on Sunday. So you see it is not T that make them so trouty! its themselves who think that they owns T.
Does anyone else (besides me) think that tesco will end the dtd promotion next week when the new double up clubcard deals promotion starts. They can then say that the money saving is available to more people as lots of customers don't have a computer. CWxx

Ah... CW, me not going to use any clubcard or credit card as long as they still offer capped £20 voucher - I am using £20 capped voucher to buy me stuff now.. Any extra cash you have you can set it aside is so much better than double clubcard. Not having them nosy! who's who using vouchers.

want to make up a hamper of practical baby things that she'll use every day like baby wipes - any ideas on what i can buy as i don't do babies? Thanks x

Morning everyone - still got about 7 pages to catch up on. Lovely idea Dawn.

With a 7 week old baby I have gone through tons of cotton wool balls ;) You could also get baby oil/shampoo/baby bath/cotton buds - all Johnson's currently on offer in Mr Ts.

How about Dettol wipes or hand sanitiser for the handbag (only about 59p in Quality Save). Errrmmm!! They've also got some really cool nappy bags in Wilkinsons I think - they come in a tiny liitle plastic roll - great to throw in the car/bag.

I've got some spare Huggies little swimmer MOCs if you want something a bit different. When they are on offer you can usually get them for about 50p with a voucher.

I'm thinking of doing a bit of a hamper for mothers day. Stocked up on Olay/Nivea/Herbal Essence with DTD :p

Swood - that is awful about your mum!!! :-(

Bah...Plymouth Gin seems to have disappeared off the Asda website and is no longer comparable in mysupermarket, (altho does come up as a price when matched with T's, then substitutes to Sloe gin). Sure its on the shelves but the dtd of about £15 is probably not going to work anymore...

Not sure though...surprisingly not listed on Mys, T's site...;)

I've been following this post for a few days and its now time to ask questions I feel.
Abbrievatiation meaning please for an APG (after a while I worked out a MOC is a money off coupon and saw post telling me a DTD is double the difference)
So I submitted my first receipt on Tesco on 30/03/11 (Asda is too far away to make use of) as that is where I shop once a week. Only one individual item was actually cheaper in Asda than Tesco and because of my other items purchased my overall receipt WAS cheaper in Tesco than Asda by £3.22 so no money back for me. As I tend to buy things on offer most weeks I think it will always be cheaper in Tesco for me with the things I buy (quite often they are Tesco own brand so no comparison possible)
So this morning I've been looking at www.mysupermarket.co.uk to compare individual products, thinking the only way I could benefit was to buy individual products which I know are cheaper in Asda than in Tesco (although checking prices today will not help me when I'm not doing shopping until Monday). I looked at Bailey Litre. £19.19 in Tesco against £15.00 in Asda. If I purchased 1 bottle that would equate to £8.38 back on DTD . So I'd purchased a bottle for £19.19 and then get £8.38 voucher, hence equating to £10.81, but its £10 in Morrisons this week (I bought one on Weds). So that wouldn't be a good DTD and it could backfire on me if for some reason the comparison wasn't working that day and the result came back as a N/A. I did another comparison of a wine (That I wouldn't normally buy) and got a result of a £2.38 DTD, but I'm then stuck with a bottle of wine that I paid £9.49 for even though I got £2.38 back (possibly). I'm really not seeing how everyone is making this work for them.
In addition I don't have a mobile phone or laptop that allows me to check prices as I'm at the supermarket.
I pay everything with credit card and use my clubcard. Is that bad if I'm submitting receipts hoping for DTD?
Another thing.......wombling (took me a while to work out what that was too)......does it need to be receipts which don't have clubcard points against them and paid with cash or can a receipt be used that has paid by card and a clubcard used.
I hate to think I've been missing out on getting good value in Tesco........but I still don't see how I can use this dtd to my advantage.
    The end is nigh
