I Have had So Many Problems Using Coupons In My Local Mr. T's It Would Take Me All Night To List.
Depending On Cashier, Supervisor Its Pot Luck How I Get On.
I Tried To Use 3 Squirty Creams Coupons One Day...it Says On The Coupon 'one Coupon Per Product Purchased',not Per Transaction Or Customer, But Was Informed By One Supervisor That It Was T's Policy To Accept One Coupon Per Product And They Wouldn't Take 3 Coupons For 3 Squirty Creams. This i was told was a new rule.
I went back another day to use a ONE squirty cream coupon but was told they they couldn't accept it as it had been defaced.....well as hard as i looked i couldn't see a thing wrong with it.
I was informed that due to the fact there was 'text' on the back of it (i had run out of paper and had used the back of one of the hundreds of school letters my son brings home every week) Thought in this 'save the planet 'day and age this would have been commended, but no I was told that it was defaced.
I pointed out that in that case why do they accept coupons cut out from newspapers and magazines as they must also be 'defaced' as there is text written on the back. She just shrugged her shoulders at that one and still wouldn't let me use it.
Depending on the cashier/till supervisor it is pot luck what conditional spend vouchers they will accept. I had a co op conditional spend refused a few days ago, even though one went through fine the previous week. I even pointed out that there was a drop down box on the spend and save button with a list of acceptable stores but the male supervisor wouldn't even look . He refused to let the cashier take it and walked away .
Tonight I have just walked out of the shop and left £40 worth of shopping at the till.
I had a £5 off a £30 co op voucher and about £3.50 worth of other coupons. When i handed them over the cashier said he would have to call the supervisor over to check them as they were 'internet coupons' never had a problem before.
The supervisor took one look at them and said we cant take all them as you can only use vouchers upto the value of 10% of your shopping. I told her that I only had about £3.50 worth and said that I had never heard the 10% rule before and thought that It was T's policy to accept a coupons if you had bought the product ,which I had.
She said the rules had changed and they had just received a memo that day regarding the policy, although she couldn't find the memo when I asked to see it ( by now I am thinking they had just got it in for me as most times i shop there I manage to get at least 50% off my shopping ,usually more if i have conditional spends)
I said a friend had had a letter from head office stating Mr Ts coupon policy and that i would bring it in. ( I haven't got a friend with a copy but intended getting one myself from head office) She said that wouldn't change anything as I could make one up myself.....should have been flattered as i only know the basics on my PC ,that would be like rocket science to me!
Then she started sifting through the coupons tossing most of them aside saying they were not acceptable. IE the Kingsmill had 'personal coupon' on the top and not my name. I pointed out that that was the way they were printed. Some had my name on and another had my husbands name on. A few of them from Supersavvyme had my maiden name on (so does my passport as I still haven't got round to changing it)
I had two 20p coupons for Hartleys jelly and she said she would only let me use one as its company policy to only let you use one of any particular coupon .
I was standing my ground with her and pointed out that i had two jellies, she said 'you have been told before when you tried to used a few squirty cream vouchers '( that incident wasn't wish her so it's obvious they have been discussing me) I pointed out the terms on the cream coupons ,she argued with me that it said one per customer and that she had seen it herself. Unfortunately I didnt have one on me at the time. She then gave me a nasty look and said she wasn't prepared to argue with me and walked off.
This was a very brief version of what was said i could o on and on.
I apologized to the lad on the till and said I've had enough and I don't want my shopping and walked out.
I got home just in time to ring Customer service at head office. The lady i spoke to was very nice but didn't know the coupon policy herself and passed me on to someone else who also didn't know but said they would find out and get in touch with me tomorrow.
I was just wondering if anyone else had similar problems or is it as i suspect they just don't like seeing me walk out the shop with a load of cheap shopping.
I dont feel like I can go back in to that store now until i have the coupon policy sorted out as I think they are just making it up as they go along to stop me using them.
Apologies for the long post but trust me this was the short version!0 -

Morning all:)
Thats really frustrating sidemoore hope you get some joy back from customer service.
Went to my Tesco's yesterday to see if had any paint & similar to other posters noticed not a single advert for the DTD to be seen anywhere so guess this maybe getting pulled very soon0 -
Morning everyone
When I did a dtd shop yesterday I too noticed that the big display that was in the reception area had been removed. There was still signs on the post next to each till though.
I read on one of the threads that they queried this with their store and were told they are waiting for a new display stand.
In reality its best to do your dtd shop while you can.

Morning all - I went to T's yesterday after work and noticed that the dtd posters, leaflets etc had all been moved. Agree, looks like it won't last much longer and am wondering when T's will make an announcement. Maybe they will sweeten it by offering some other sort of incentive to shop at T's.0

Sorry about the T''s experience Sidemoore - I hope you have complained to HO. The T's customer service is mainly awful although I know one or two peeps have had good experiences. Quite a few people on here have dumped their shopping after being treated appallingly - good on you for showing them what they can do with it:T:T:T0
