    Happy Easter everyone...

Beautiful day here, a little cooler but suits me. Had a long lie in though; helpd tidy my DD's room yesterday, I'm exhausted! :D

Aesop, hope your son feels better soon; it's a horrible virus and the symptoms don't actually correlate with how badly you feel. Hopefully, he can enjoy some Easter eggs. :A

myalphabetgirls I wish I hadn't missed your post as I love your chatty ones. :)

  • Yes, just voted for pretty Tia too.

Thanks Byatt, well it was a waffly one to be fair, lol.

Was explaining how, having done a fair amount of boot sales now, I have become thick skinned now over pricing, and not the push-over I once naively was. That goes too for those who dare clamber all over my car boot or table as I am setting up - now then, my friends, they all now get the full and extended version of my month long, it seems, pmt! A polite * (insert your favourite) off combined with a steely glare usually does it. Yeah, I do have a banner, wonderfully painted by DD's 2 & 3, declaring 50% profit goes to MIND, I also stick the 3 letters Ive received from MIND thanking me for the donation on the windscreen should they care enough to look. Other than that, will probably aim the finish and the starter kits at around £3 and hopefully achieve £2 minimum. I know they are worth more, but like Sinw said, mostly are skinflints and sometimes I swear they would um & ahh if you said it was free. Gets right on my bangers when people hold things in their hands dithering, so no one else can buy it and they walk away disinterested and then eventually so does the pillock holding it! Argh!

Anyway, on a brighter note - my Asda (car park) hosted a boot sale this morning (so did Morrisons but it was a bit rubbish). Asda was heaving, and managed quite a few bargains (a Monsoon skirt for £1 which I was well pleased with - for me too and not the girls, woohoo). Also wombled quite a few receipts from yesterday and one was for £4.08!

Now Im the one dithering, all is quiet here. OH, dog and numerous cats (yeah, yeah, I have 6!, 3 are kittens though so not forever as ready to leave their mum soon) all knocking our peaceful zzzz's. DD3 playing at another child's house for a change and DD2 out with boyfriend. Should I plant my beans out or should I just do a big fat nothing?

Have to be honest, I quite favour the latter option, along with a free (therefore extra yummy) magnum (or two!).

dont forget anyone - if you want that velvet (4 pack) receipt then let me know.
Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x

My alphabet-girls are with me every step of the way x

Thanks to all that have voted for Tia so far. I've gone on strike, can't be bothered today, been for long walk with dogs, sorted more bits upstairs and had enough now so am on the sofa - can't sit in garden as having to do shifts with next door neighbour as my dogs n her dogs can't be in garden at same time as they kick off. Just gonna catch up on computer stuff then perhaps watch a dvd.
A home is not a home ..... without a dog

Yes, me too ...have been car booting a few years now, and although I was also very naive I still get caught out now and then. I'm a sucker for the kids and end up reducing drastically or giving away!!!

Like you say though, even if offered free, people would still want a discount!! :rotfl::rotfl:

I've also had stuff stolen from my boot in the frenzy that starts when you arrive. Just can't get over the cheek of some people as the item would probably have gone for peanuts anyway! Another guy told me a sob story of having things he'd bought for his child, stolen. He was wandering around like someone overcome with grief. I sold him a load of toys for pennies...only to find him selling them on his own stall a while later!!

Still, also meet some really nice people and it stops me becoming a recluse. LOL. DD wants to do one tomorrow as she's cleared bedroom.

:Dme and pink love doing carboots, we usually have a basket of "stuff" marked "FREE, help yourselves" think this stops most of the pinching. DS4 took me for a walk round the local carboot this morn it was lovely and warm, nice to get out am feeling much better now.:):)
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

never complain about growing old,far too many people have been denied that privilege.

Happy Easter everyone. The sun is out. But Tesco is closed, so no DTD. Boohoo.

Wishing everyone and their families happiness and a speedy recovery to those who are ill and are a bit under the weather.
