Might be an idea to keep an eye on the prices in case they all go back up to £10-ish whilst the £5-off offer is on.

for some reason this article reminded me of you lot

    http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/Can-really-save-90-food-bills-yahoofinanceuk-3264027175.html

In the US, "extreme couponing" fans claim that they can save as much as 90% through careful planning, a strong resolve to avoid impulse buying - and a huge wad of coupons.
These are painstakingly collected from newspapers, direct mailings, discount voucher websites and newsletters and cross matched with in store promotions so they end up getting hundreds of dollars worth of goods for free and paying the smallest amount possible for everything else

Speaking of toilet rolls, I think I'm one of the few people who didn't build up a supply of Velvet toilet rolls. I'm running out, so does anyone know the best prices at the moment please? They don't have to be top notch, but OH does like a bit of comfort in certain areas IYSWIM :D

Sainsbury's own brand aren't bad. They are soft, but quite small, but the price is quite small too.
  • Morning all :)

Another lovely sunny day and might manage to squeeze in a dtd shop later.

    Happy shopping/moccing/dtding folks. ;)

I was in Mr T yesterday and used moc and vouchers, and conditional spends, etc to get shopping down from £70 to £40. Hopefully will get DTD, as was buying stuff that would give it.

But the way the cashier was behaving! Her face kept dropping and dropping the more stuff I gave her. And she tried to decline 2 vouchers! one was torn by the writing, I had ripped it out of newspaper ;) I said the barcode was intact, why did she need to ask if it would be accepted? And the second was sainsbury's conditional spend. I was just about to argue saying 2 weeks ago I was told that was all they accepted, not Co-op and this week she was telling me they didn't accept it! but her Manager told her to swipe and if it worked, fine, if not, give it back to me.

Well 2 conditional spends went through :j

In this day and age of hard times, the price of products, etc, you would think people would be happy you are doing so well with your shopping! T still get their money, they aren't losing out, she still gets profits from her shares... I am assuming she has shares in T's......

I did a shop at asda on saturday and used their apg voucher which was for £17. ?? my bill was £30.?? altogether, the sa looked all the way thru the reciept from the Qualifying spend and asked "how did you get that amount" to which I replied " i must have shopped carefully" she said "but you only spent £31 and got voucher for £17, I'm not having that" and rang for the supervisor who just looked at her and said "it doesnt matter if it was for £117 if details match scan it" sa then repeated the bit about only spending £31, supervisor gave her the glare of death and said "so what, just scan it" I smiled sweetly, but why do these sa have to be so nasty.

Maybe the SA think that if we keep getting shopping cheaply, T will go under and they will not have a job. What they don't realise is that not everyone is doing DTD ! Can you imagine if they were!

And surely the economies of scale show that more consumers are shopping at T due to competitive pricing? T aren't losing out!
