When is it interest free?

I was reading the back of my statement and it says:
Interest free period: For purchases if you pay your balance in full, by the due date - 59 days

Interest charges are applied on purchases: From: date purchase is applied to account Until:statement date.

Now if I get a statement every 30 days then how do I ever get 59 days interest free?
do they add the interest and then remove if the balance is paid in full within 59 days?

anyone able to explain this please

    approximately it works like this

lets say your statement date is 5th on the month
and lets say they give you 30 days to pay i.e. the 4th of the next month

you make a purchase on the 6th march
the statement is produced on the 5th april
and your pay by date is 5th may

so its UP TO 59 days interest free

no they don't add it to your statement initially ... only if you don't pay in full is it added to the following statement
