I'm living in rented property with my partner and this is the first time we have had gas heating so im unsure of if this is a normal amount?
we live in a 3 bed, oldish semi with double glazing. we used gas for cooking heating water the usual I suppose! we have just received our bill for the winter quarter which we were expecting, is this average for people? we are currently with southern electric.
any response would be helpful thank you

Ours was a shocker too, not quite as bad as yours at £450 but still frightened the life out of me.
I'll have to be very careful next winter.
Get knitting jumpers, home made ones are much warmer than shop bought ones for some reason.:)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I would say thats slightly on the high side but not a huge amount, you dont say how many kWh you use. My yearly usage on gas bear in mind I hardly use any during late Spring/Summer/early Autumn is around £600-£700 most of is between Nov/March0

we use gas for cooking and heating and also use a log burner ever other night roughly. I do try and cut down when I can get away with it
