Hi milann, nice to see you!! Hope you are well.

It is very wet here this morning, which I didn't think was forecast, so I hope it clears up soon. I had sort of planned on heading into town to do the last bits of holiday shopping - toiletries, books, that sort of thing, but I don't so much fancy soggy shopping :o There's not much I need so I can prob do it in lunchbreaks etc, but I would quite like to be organised for this holiday for a change!!!

    Yeah, right :rotfl:

    I confess, I've never had a G&T

**note to self: investigate those single portion things, as long as that doesn't get me chucked off the thread**

And Hypno: I love, love, love the new sig!

I've been known to buy the single portion cans in the past - very good for picnics they are too :D

The sig comes from a card that was sent to me out of the blue from a lifelong friend yesterday who just saw it and thought of me  Was a lovely thing to come home to at the end of a hard week.

You know your turnaround is complete when somebody reads that and thinks of you. Lovely!

Dont you just love friends who take the time to follow up a thought of you? When it is that thought then KC is right, your turn around is complete.

For some reason that doesn't surprise me :D

I've done my holiday shopping - well as much as I can anyway - got some good bargains, a couple of hats to stop my wrinkles getting any more wrinkly, some excellently priced bikinis and a couple of other bits and pieces. The Boots shop was expensive but sun creams and insect repellent are probably cheaper here on 3 for 2 etc than on hols, so at least that is done.

Did spend a bit in Waterstones, but then I always treat myself to new books for hols.....hmmm :o

Oh, and that pesky Hobbs sale got in my way too :rotfl:

Stopped at the butchers on the way home and picked up plenty of meat for the freezer so that is one thing I don't have to think about when we return home.

    So, all's well......:D

    Hi hypno

ouch! sorry to hear about your finger  But woo! :j:j:j to new bikinis and books for holidays :D Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for the kind advice and support you have shown me on my thread :o:D I really do appreciate it.

Am sure your holiday will be fab!

I also love your idea of coffee pot vs rome pot & moroccon tagine :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Brilliant and motivational to see it building up like that. i went to rome several years ago - only a very short break and would love to re-visit properly i.e. when i've more time and when i've got some money i can actually spend there :)

Hi to everyone else too and hope you are all having a lovely weekend x

Thanks DDFW - and you are welcome re the advice etc on your own thread. The way you attack your payments and M/S marathons etc reminds me of how I used to do things in my early years of MSE. I perhaps should embrace more of those things again, but I got to the point where I was just comfortable to "be" for a while, and that is more or less where I remain. But I remember those days with fondness.....or something :p

The travel pots are certainly helping me to stay motivated re the coffees and unnecessary lunch spending, and have also helped me to budget. Because of course if I spend £2.10 on a coffee, the reality is that I will have taken £10 out of the cash machine, and can be sure that the change won't just be spent on coffees for the rest of the week.....whereas by transferring £2.10 via online banking into the Rome pot, I have *only* spent the £2.10, not anything else, so my money is going further.
