Hi Everyone, afer being scammed by 3 loan brokers to the tune of £190 I have been doing research to stop anyone elese getting scammed by these fools on the internet. If it stops 1 person getting scammed then I will be happy. The first 3 I have lost £60 to and still have not got a penny back!
YES LOANS LTD
WELCOME LOANS LTD
LOAN GOGO
[TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]
If anyone else can add to the list please feel free to contribute. I am going to build a case and pass them all on to the authorities. These pretend brokers need stopped. Also, if anyone tries to be smart and go on about there dodgy terms & conditions I have already tried writing to Yes Loans and Welcome Loans asking for my refund. They both sent me the same letter saying I deserve to loose £60 pound because I lied to them and wasted there time! What a bunch of cowboys!

Ralph Marlon is another front of Wentworth - they too claim they're just a provider.
Also add EveryDay Loans to the list - the will look for an 'underwriter' after you have paid a fee
EveryDay Loans is a little bit more 'legitimate' in that they have actual offices (not morons in a Slough call-centre like Wentworth) - but even one of their reps, Michelle Joseph, told me NOT to get a loan with them as their 'rates are through the roof' I asked her what the APR is and she said "61%" *gasp*
PS LoanGoGo (Davenport Black Group) claim your fee is just £39, but they decided to help themselves to another £20 on top when they scammed me this week - once bitten, twice shy.
I got a so-called 'application pack', (i will not reply - it's a hoax) one of the clauses in the small print reads
4. When acting as a loan or finance broker we seek to get a lender or financier to offer You a loan or finance. We act as your broker for 3 months in order to
maximise your chances of getting a lender or financier to make You a loan or finance offer. We seek to match your loan or finance application with one or
more of the lenders or financiers we deal with. We do not act on behalf of the lenders or financiers or represent them.
They helped themselves to £39 trading as 'MerlinMoney' now they want £59 more from me:mad:
I'm just gonna write this off to experience - and not touch any 'broker' ever again... If you haven't heard of the firm, don't touch them.
If it's not a High Street lender - it's obviously a backstreet one

These FOOLS on the internet? Who lost their money? Twernt them.0

no need to be smug birkee, I can't answer for the OP but for me I was trying to look for a genuine loan - I realise now after finding this site I was duped. I feel like setting up my own Loan Broker site to claw in some money too

I'll just stick to my bank now.Probably the best Engineer in the World0 -
It wasn't smugness. It was you calling THEM the fools.0

If none of these brokers have found you a loan, you are probably able to reclaim all but a fiver of the brokering fee - see numerous other threads here about reclaiming brokers fees. But I agree, it's pretty crappy that most of them make their money from upfront fees, not finding you loans.0

3 times, how on earth? Thanks for the list but the simple advice is anyone asking for money before the loan is issued is a scammer.0 -

Sadly the 'fools' are those who hand out their card details to all and sundry. No decent broker will ask for an upfront fee - they get their commission from the lender.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
claim your money back minus £5....they all have to give it you back....read on here about it...And stop being so bloody gullible. It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Obviously I do not know the full details but assuming the loan you were seeking is covered by the Consumer Credit Act, it will fall under the jurisdiction of the Financial Ombudsman Service.
You will need to ask the broker to consider your complaint first but if you are unhappy with their response, or they do not issue it within eight weeks of receiving the complaint, you can ask the Financial Ombudsman Service to investigate it.0
