If you're starting a Daily Thread can you copy and paste this into the top post?

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 26th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning my lovelies :D

Didn't have internet yesterday so didn't get chance to post.

Have been awake since 4am courtesy of DD  I don't think there's been a night this week where one child or another hasn't meant an undisturbed sleep <sigh>
Got a card making workshop this morning, H is working and kids are going to my mum's to play with their cousins. If I can do anything else this afternoon I will consider that a bonus :o
Doing a table top sale tommorrow and I can set up table tonight so will do that later. Fingers crossed for me and Jackie that we can make a few pennies at our respective sales ;)
No idea what's for tea, whatever I can be bothered to make I suppose. Washing is up to date although I have to change our bed so I guess it's won't be up to date for long.

Sowed some spring onions, carrots, lettuce yesterday. Hope the weather stays as nice as it has been last few days.

NPM - Happy birthday my lovey HSthbdayparty-1.gif Hope you are spoilt and have a good day xxx Good luck with your ebay sales too x

Jools - Hugs for you xx

Hester - Sorry to hear about CRB. What a total joke. Can you appeal??

hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.

I see you are waiting for Bitsy, NPM, I won't wait, I'm such a slow typist there will be 10 posts in fornt of mine by the time I've finished typing, lol.
We got up at 5 to watch the GP qually, hubby's had a bacon sarnie, I'm on tea so far & will have breakfast later. DW is on, beds stripped, fish fed, WM on, & I have a loaf of bread proving.
Plans for today include making chicken soup from a chicken carcase, making biscuits & knitting a couple of dishcloths, such excitement!
Thanks for all the kind comments yesterday re the social worker, I won't appeal just yet, my DD is worried that they will stop her fostering if I make waves.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone:j:j
Well aint the wether been great:j:jheres hopeing for more of the same over the weekend.

The twins are off to there dancing class this morninging im meeting them after, at there great nans (wife wifes nans) as she needs her grass cut. She can still do quite a bit in the garden but there are a few things that are now a bit too much for her and the grass is one of them. It will also mean that she will get to see the girls too so will save another visit or save her comming over too us on the bus. She gets around great for her age and still goes on hoilday about 3 times a year. Shes goes on them 70-90 singal hoildays, bit like 18-30 i think!:D:D

I spent most of the afternooon in my own garden yesterday when i got back from work. Its all starting to get sorted now and ready for summer. The trouble is all the hard work keeping it that way.

Twin ones eye is loads better and we just need to try and get the stips off it now that the doctors put on. Twin two is also fine.

Not sure what we shall be haveing for lunch or dinner today as yet.

I hope that everyones been keeping well this week.

    Have a great day veryone:j:j

Hester I cannot believe they've denied your CRB. I can't see any reason for needing CRB for each different establishment or activity.

One of the thick chicken & veg soup portions that I made from Sunday lunch a fortnight ago and froze, turned into cannelloni for 4 yesterday. It was delicious and cost 25p per portion :D

Grey and uninspiring here :( I had got used to seeing blue skies and sunshine (and dust and fingerprints!)

Childminding the DGSs in batches today as usual. This involves "Breakfast Club" - eggs & bacon, etc.
Dinner will be when we are all together later on this afternoon. We are having chicken & steak fajitas with hm fajita spice mix and DH's hm salsa (made with his homegrown tomatoes, chillis and onions) Yummy:j

Need to sort DH out a shopping list before the hordes arrive,
Happy Saturday & hugs to all who need or want,
    Cheers m'dears, Silver x

Have to make my birthday cake today and have birthday tea which is the law of DS:o
Will get my cards and pressies later after the tea.
I would much rather be having a take away curry tonight but anything to keep the peace.
May have curry tomorrow night as post bday treat...I have a half leg of lamb in fridge to make roast dinner tomorrow but maybe will have take away? will see.....have got to the stage where I am tighter than a dolphins bum when it comes to spending money:rotfl:
made a banana and choc ring cake yesterday but although I used the tin specified it boiled over in the oven and had to be scraped off oven floor and binned.
Am hoping to get in shed tomorrow and get stuff on Ebay
Going to local toyshop today as sold some old DVDs of DS`s on music magpie so I said he could have the £20 to get sylvanian families stuff.
    Have a fab day everyone

    Morning all

Happy birthday NPM - have a fab day

I'm another one who was up at silly o'clock this morning. 6am on a Saturday, it's not right! It's a misty start here but the sun is trying to get through.

I need to pop out this morning and get some wrapping paper. My friend has just qualified as a mental health nurse :) I got her a few small bits and need to wrap and post them, but I only have birthday or xmas paper in! I'll go to Home Bargains as I need a few toilettries too. And I'll probably take the recycling to the tip at same time.

I think I'm meeting the girls for lunch and spot of shopping later. I'll pop to library as well. I also need to pack for my trip to London (tomorrow til late Tues) and print out some maps etc.

OS wise - need to hoover, DW needs to go on, and need to use up/freeze any fresh stuff that might turn whilst I'm away.

I'm off back to bed with cuppa and book

    Have a good Saturday all

    NPM - Happy birthday xxxxxx

Silver - congrats on the job xxxxx

Hester - Seems totally stupid, can't you get a meeting / letter to discuss why they have decided not to proceed? With the SW's line manager?

Looks grey outside, but is relatively mild. Am planning to do LOADS of washing as I came away with almost as much as I took to the jumble sale yesterday! But I have some nice tshirts for me and the boys and got some things for my friend and her girls. Her OH is useless and has disappeared and is staying unemployed so he doesn't have to pay anything grrrrrr. Need to change the beds today and need to secure the railway sleepers so that the boys can't tip them over again!

Please may the sun come up today?! Have indian from the freezer today for tea and need to get chicken out for tomorrows dinner! Already getting fed up with the childrens continual shouting - use your indoor voices. Love and +ive vibes to all xxx
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

    Morning all

Cloudy, overcast and chilly, what happened to the sunshine? Pleased I got the washing out and line dried over the past week as it doesn't look to promising for today, although forecast is better again for tomorrow.

DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock, after waking me with the euro numbers asking me to check them before he went in case we'd won and he didn't need to go!!! Good job I love this man!! Needless to say we didn't win and he's gone off with his packed lunch under his arm. Managed to get into bed and stay there last night, did fall asleep on the sofa but then went to bed and slept without waking.

Dinner last night was pork chops, mash, carrots, cauli & broccolli cheese and gravy, ice creams for those that wanted them, I had a banana and yogurt. Was reasonably productive again yesterday, stripped and re-made our bed, washed and line dried the bedding, just put on airer to finish off before putting away. Went to the bank, did food shop, did couple loads of washing, made 2 doz cup cakes, 2 doz twinks, and a fruit cake - just need to ice the cupcakes and possibly make some choc chip cookies today. Got the beef joint out of the freezer last night to defrost for tonights dinner, have a busy day tomorrow so decided to do a roast tonight, beef is quite a large joint so am hoping I can have some leftovers to use another day. If I'm productive enough and get all the jobs on my list done, I may do some more baking/cooking later.

Have promised DS2 I will take him to the local library this morning so will have a look for myself too.

Will be going to local well known store for some compost, plants etc later as we have a £25 giftcard left from Xmas, so want to spend it to try and save us some money!! Boys have rugby in the morning, in the afternoon DH and I going to meet friends and visit a venue for a caravan rally we are hosting later in the year.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Good Morning everyone :)

Well it is a little grey and misty here but hoping it will clear later, have a child free day today (except the one in my belly!) So am going to spend the day sorting my life out.

HAd a terrible week this week with work, the boss and his wife are a pair of bullies and have been making my life a misery - i'm not one to bleat about the injustice of it but really it is!!! Got my union involved but the boss decided last night to rip me apart at half six at night and there wasn't one thing my manager could do. I'm afraid twice in one week of being spoken to in that way has completely ruined me so I really don't feel like I can return - :(

I will contact my union rep again Monday and go see my GP. In the meantime it's time for me to batten down the hatches and tighten the purse strings in preparation for no wage of mine. Have calculated on budget brain that we're about £200 down a month so need to set about recouping that from elsewhere (grocery budget etc)

Apologies for the long post :o
