Landlord Q re changing one tenant

Hi all,
I am letting out my property to a pair of great tenants - we have an AST with both of them named, and they are now on the rolling periodic tenancy. One of them wants to move out and the other would like to find a new flatmate to move in, subject to our approval.
We're happy to sort out tenant checks etc and trust this guy's judgement - they have looked after the place well.
Just wondering what the procedure would be and whether we need a whole new AST with another tie-in period (essentially starting a new tenancy with the new couple) or if there's a way we can just adjust the existing AST.
I'm aware I can find this stuff out myself but I just wanted a few pointers as you moneysavers have been great in the past!
