payments from redundancy

Hi all, help needed in calculating actual weeks owed.
I have trawled through posts but still have no definite answer. My colleagues and i were called to yard on Wednesday to be told the company had become insolvent and as of that day we were all made redundant.I have been with them for 17 years. We all new things were bad as we have been getting behind in wages over last few months but even so it still knocks the stuffing out of you when it happens.
Am i right in saying that i will be able to claim 17 weeks at a week and a half making 25 weeks redundancy pay as I'm over 40 and 12 weeks notice pay on top.Plus what happens about 4 weeks wages we were under paid.
Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times before but would be great if someone can let me know.

Redundancy payment depends upon several factors inc age as well as length of service. Go to the Governments' web site for the definitive calculator: http://www.direct.gov.uk/redundancy.dsb
If the company becomes insolvent then you will be first in the queue with other claims to the assets of the company for outstanding salary but other payments become subject to the insolvency rules. Read this:
