Traffic Complaint - who to complain to ???

Hi All
Recently there has been some local roadwork’s in my area , with some new building additions etc etc , BUT since then the council or whomever deals with the traffic light signaling has changed something , and where it normally averaged me 15min drive home now takes me 45min+ due to traffic backed up for over 2 miles plus every day due to poor traffic light signaling.
Please , does anyone know who I need to contact to make them aware of this
this is the section between A331/A321
any advise will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Ian

can't you just go a different way until they are removed? Even if it takes 30 mins going a longer route then at least you will be moving, and will still be quicker and less frustrating than sitting in traffic.0

Are these permanent signals or just temporary ones for the roadworks ? If they are the permanent sort then something might have gone wrong with the timing mechanism or movement sensors. In that case get in touch with the council to report the fault. If they are just there while the roadworks are taking place then I am afraid there is not much that can be done. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I wish you all the best, we had a similar situation here when it took 45 minutes to leave the estate and get on the main road to start your journey (it was the only exit) due to poor planning and terrible lights - it took nearly 6 years for our council to eventually admit they had cocked up and recify it (at first they just denied it was happening). We had to fight tooth and nail to get it sorted, local paper, residents groups, petitions, Mp's and local councillors - i even contacted the Highways agency just to add extra pressure. My advice would be to just stir up as much as you can until they eventually HAVE to do something because if you put in a complaint they will just pay you lipservice whilst completely ignoring you.
I understand ALOT more than I care to let on

HI all , no these traffic lights are now permanant ;-( i have been trying to go home diferant way , and this does normally take me 30min or there abouts , but its just so frustrating , everything was wokring so well before they changhed it.
PS : i dont know who to contact about this . do i contact my local council or is there a dedicated traffic dept ?
I was even thinking about getting a complaing number . adddress and then walking down the middle of the 2 mile trafffic jam , handing out the number so that people can help complain if they are also fed up with the problem0 -
It's either the county council if it's classed as a local road. If it's classed as a trunk road then you may have to go to the Highways Agency. First port of call would be the county council roads and traffic department. Just look in your phone book under your county council and the various departments should be listed separately. If these lights don't come under their remit then they should give you a contact number for the Highways Agency. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Recently had a similar problem, contacted County Council and they replied that as it was an A road it came under highway agency.
