I wouldn't recommend it.She would risk far worse than that if a deliberate attempt to evade paying the proper fare were discovered. Fortunately proof of age is required before a Senior Railcard is issued.Oldernotwiser wrote: »I agree but the OP is asking about buying the railcard in advance and booking on line as a way of getting round the fact of using it before she's eligible for it.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I am sorry I have caused so much confusion. I only wanted to know if I could purchase a rail card before my 60th birthday in order to take advantage of the cheaper advance fares. I intend to make 3 seperate journey's buying a single for each. The first would be on the day before my birthday obviously not using the card but the other 2 would be once I was 60.:hello: N:hello:A :hello:N :hello:A :hello:M :hello:A :hello:G :hello:S :hello:0

Does anyone know of any discount codes for a senior railcard? I can get 10% of a single year card but was planning to buy a 3 year one. I suppose as that saves me money anyway they won't want to give any more money off.0

The price (before that 10% discount) goes up to £28 from 22 May 2011.0 -

Have to wait a couple more years to benefit from this discount. I will definitely apply for it right when I turn 60! I've spent thousands in travel!0
