credit card default

Hi, advise please! I had a capital one credit card and missed 4 months payments in a row, so they defaulted me, I paid it of the same month it was defaulted, can I argue the default, and what kind of impact will it have on my credit rating, the balance was only £500 - stupid me I kn ow.....:p

    What argument can you make. You missed 4 payments, you have no defence.

    ONLY £500, I know someone with a default fo £30.

    The default will be marked as settled on your credit file, but unfortunately it is there for 6 years, settled or not.

    Impact - trouble getting credit, mortgage, mobile phone contract, etc, etc.
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
    and we will never, ever return.

    As McKneff has said a default will defiantly have a negative effect..

    Have they definitely registered a default?
    You say you paid within a month but did you pay within the time-scale given on the default notice to correct the account (usually 14 days). If you brought the account back in line with T&C within that time then they won't enter a default.
