Renewals
Watch out for your renewal prices and terms. Just had mine from the AA, seems I now pay by recurring payment method, (which I don't, I have paid by cc for 4 years). I am now covered whilst driving any car, (something I never asked for, don't want and costs me more money). Basic roadside costs £28 on the net, yet they want £58.50 from me at renewal. Last year I paid about £68, this year they want £113.50.
Needless to say they won't be getting it. The same goes for insurance renewals, NEVER just pay them, get a quote and save money.

Another one of my pet hates - autorenewals - and it annoys me even more when they say they are doing me a favour by offering me this service
I always shop around and even fill all my details in on the current insurers website to request a new policy instead (and it's ALWAYS cheaper than the renewal quote) - then I phone them and ask them to explain why there's a difference.
I wondered if it's some sort of conspiracy by all the insurance companies? Many of them advertise that they will beat any renewal quote so I think they all intentionally bump up the renewal premiums in case their customers don't check and end up paying the inflated price, or they accept a percentage of customer churn every year.0 -

You do now, they've got your cc number from last year.
Make sure you put the fact you don't want the renewal in writing to them, you can get the cc chargeback through more easily afterwards.0 -
Hi
I have also had my renewal through and they want £145.00 for me and spouse for roadside/relay cover.
I can get this from RAC for £99 + cashback and also on AA website for £89 + cashback.
Shall i just cancel membership i have now and then take out another one via cashback site and get the lower price? Can i do this?
Thanks in advanceMake the most of your days, enjoy your life.0 -

Hi iloveboots, get a quote from the net and phone them (0800 435 980), they have a dedicated option for anyone wanting to leave. Tell them you can get it for a lot less from another organisation, you'd be surprised how much they will knock off. If they can't match other quotes then leave them. I did this with Sky, got a new Sky+ box fitted for free. Beware, over the years Sky have changed their packages. I originally had the family pack, that's no longer available. I found I was paying for Arts and Childrens channels that I don't watch, I got those removed and saved money.0

I tried that number.
"we are too busy with emergency calls at the moment, please call later"
for a week?
We phoned renewals and cancelled in the end.
(oddly enough, they weren't too busy)0
