Not long off the phone activating my Barclaycard card, they are really pushing the ID insurance, the operator put the phone down on me when I wouldn't accept his spiel. Any of you guys had the same treatment?

All cards generally try to sell CPP as its worth alot of commision, i always find saying i already have it with made up card company gets them off the line.

I had a friend who worked at swinton, they said they didn't actually have a claims department as there wasn't any, basically a insurance for 5.99 a month that had no use

What I find disgusting is that these days many CC providers are actually farming out activation to other companies whose exclusive purpose is to sell you insurance. I've actually called an activation line and had it answered "Hello, CPP".

The best approach is to cut them off before they begin with an opening gambit something like "Hello, Just to let you know I'm recording this conversation. I'm not interested in buying or even hearing about any sort of insurance whatsoever, I'm calling only to activate my card."

One on my clients (+70 y.o.) only wanted to activate a newly received Santander card and was BULLIED (I can't find another word for it; I heard the conversation) by Santander to buy CPP, EVEN after he said that he has ID Defence with Amex; the Santander officer continued insisting that it is a different product and CPP is much better.

The same happened with another person I know in Nationwide BS Brighton, she was told that the NW credit card is better than Halifax Clarity and was ‘forced’ to open it, the NW officer was kind enough to put the lady on the phone to close her Halifax Clarity.

Recently I referred a friend of mine to open Lloyds TSB current account with Vantage ONLY! And guess what, on the way back home he had 1 current account, all DD and SO moved to Lloyds, 2 saving accounts and of course two bloody Lloyds’ credit cards (Airmiles Duo Credit Cards)

    How good is that?

Haha, people have got to make there pennies
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

I can't get my mind around the cheek of it, pay 5.99 a month so some bank doesn't get ripped off :) I reckon Bob Newhart could have made a good sketch on IDT jusr like this one.

There are times in life where a little fib to save the time of all parties is justified.
