Apparently we are "froogles"!

I love the idea of a Froogles family book for kids particularly. It would be a best seller, as I am sure every grandparent of a certain age would buy it for their dgc.s. Catch 'em young - the big corporations do.0

why cant we be froogles
i dont see a problem here... i will shout it from the roof tops... you dont have to have the lastest clothes/gadgets/car/home... why
surely then we will all turn into the same people.. wearing the same clothes.. doing the same things etc etc yes everyone likes to feel nice/happy/rich but thats not the real world... just because you can spend/spent money (on credit/hp/loans) that doesnt mean you are rich far from it... i like being a froogle... smartprice/charity shop will do me... its better than being in £1000's of pounds worth of debt... but i agree if this is the 'latest craze' i am sorry but they are sooo last year :rotfl:

Not just the US. Consumer debt in UK has topped a trillion

Can anyone tell me how to put a quote in a box please?0 -
I love the idea of being a froogle. I did do a bit of consumerism in my twenties but the older I get the more I think...why? My friend has just bought an enormous American fridge that cost over £1500 - does it keep her food fresher than my cheap fridge? I doubt it? They have a hot tub in their back garden - desparate to buy it, never use it. My boss spent £1000 on asuit for her daughter's wedding that she will only wear once. Is it 10 times better than a £100 suit? Or 20 times better than a £50 suit? It just makes me shake my head. It's all about status, not thinking what exactly do they want.
TBH I get more of a thrill by money saved these days and while people at work brag about how much they have spent a colleague and I are more likely to be boasting on how much we saved. It's just different worlds and the non-froogles don't understand us at all!0 -

You press the quote buton on the person's post that you want to quote and it will take you to the 'reply to thread' window. Just type what you want to say underneath and send. Bingo!
Eve obviously didn't do much research for that article. This is exactly a small, unpopulated site...
I'm trying to be a froogle too!Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Oscar Wilde0 -

Hmm... "The Froogles", a family of MoneySavingExperts. Martin, have you ever considered writing children's books?
This is a wonderful idea.0 -
