Would you change for the sake of saving £12?

I am with eon and like some other people my deal will soon be coming to an end.
The cheapest supplier according to comparison sites is BG but they will only be £12 cheaper than eon.
BG Web saver 11 £1073
Eon Saveonline V5 £1085, compared to the £950 I am paying now.
I will also get nectar points if I switch, but honestly, is it worth the hassle?
I don't think so.
And where are these cashback sites that will give me £100 for switching?
They don't want to give me anything. At least not for switching to BG.

I'd probably switch and use one of the price comparison sites which pays £30 to use them, that way the effective saving is £42 plus the nectar points.0

I wouldn't bother0

So it's about 15 minutes work for £42.
Where else can you earn £168 per hour?
SP are still paying £80 for a dual fuel switch. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

So you would pay a higher tariff to get cashback?
Scottish power £1129.
£56 more than BG so actual saving of £24 and a more expensive tariff.0 -

Yes, of course, if the cashback benefit is greater than the extra for the tariff over the minimum term.
The same with switching-if the saving outweighs the ETC, then switch while still in contract.
I wasn't specifically suggesting going with SP, but they're one of the few big players currently giving a decent cashback. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I wouldn't bother either, you can become too obsessed with saving money.
I did. Now I spend it and enjoy myself.
What's £12? not even a round of drinks.0 -

Is that not factored into the quote that you get from the comparison sites?0 -
Well if you don't think £42 for 15 mins work is worthwhile, why are you on a money-saving site?
I was using the hourly rate of £168 to make a comparison with other activities that would bring that rate of return. There aren't many (not legal ones, anyway). No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
£168 an hour sounds very legal to me.. in fact almost like a lawyer's fees!0

I would like the answer to that as well.0
