Incorrect, you can have any BT broadband package added to BT Basic, thisis clearly stated on the BT Basic website, so no need to ring them.

Can I have broadband with BT Basic?

Yes. We recognise the importance of the internet in today's world and BT Basic has been designed to allow broadband on the line. If you do take a broadband service the cost of this will be added to the BT Basic line rental.

hmm, odd this- tried signing up via topcashback (£16/month, 1`st 3 mnths free ,£10 line rental).. but quote gives line rental at £13.60.. no option for noting the basic tariff..?

You can have any BT broadband option 1 2 or 3 as a stand alone option on BT Basic but not as part of a bundle with broadband and calls which is what the £16.00 a month offer is.

I think syko has explained the situation quite clearly.
BT Basic is a standalone product, not available on a bundle with any other products such as BT Broadband.
