Seems that if your income of £14,155 or less is made up of benefits then you get the vouchers.

However, if you go out and earn £14,155 or less, (and so also have to pay out extra money for transport to work, clothes, childcare, etc) then you're not entitled to the vouchers......

if you earn £14,155 or less you will be entitled as you get child tax credit anyway. as far as i know.

no, if you earn £14,155 or lesss through going to work you would be claiming WTC thus not being entitled, which is a bit stupid as if your on just CTC, my guess is you would need to have ALOT of children to have an income of £14k and not working.
I used to work 16hrs and was not entitled to any tokens, i certainly wasnt earning anywhere near that amount!

Its for pregnant women and children under the age of 5, dad's will only get it if they are a lone parent with a child under the age of 5.
If a couple are on benefits and have one child, they will get one token, if the woman is pregnant, they get 2.

Correct, so not just for mums...

  • I see the age for children as changed also with this new scheme, you used to receive them if child was under five, now you only get if your child is under 4
