  • Got my response back today from Central Trust and they are declining my claim based on time scale as they say i took out the loan in July 2005 and only made contact with them in August this year, although i thought it was September 2005.
They have put a comment that i could complain to the insurer who interestingly(there words) are now with Aviva Norwich Union.
What are advise can anyone give me.
I will be back on later once ive read fully what they have said, although iam sure everyone knows what they have had to say.

It doesn't surprise me that they're trying to get your complaint barred on a technicality.

They certainly don't have a leg to stand on if they sold you a £11,500 policy as a lump sum!

If the policy was sold in July 2005 you have the right to take the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service against Central (mis)Trust. That would be the best way forward.

Not once have I seen the FOS block a complaint because the complaining person took too long to raise the inital complaint, so they're probably taking rubbish.

They also seem to pushing blame onto the insurer. I again wouldn't listen to them because its always much easier to continue a complaint against the broker. Only if all else fails is it worth pursuing Norwich Union.

Expect a long fight because they tend to appeal most decisions that go against them at the Financial Ombudsman Service. Don't give up.
