H SAMUEL Store Card (Santander)

in Credit cards
Hi Folks,
I have had a store card from H Samuel for quite a while now probably dating back over a year now. I had purchased a few things on it and paid them off in installments. There was a balance of around £400 on it and I cleared it off in full at the start of last year and never used it again. Anyhow in October of last year I went back to H Samuel and purchased a few things and it came up to around £350 I asked them to put it onto my store card but they said they couldn't as they had done away with it. So they then set up a new credit agreement that would take monthly installments so I was happy enough with that. Well the problem is they have ran stuff through on two different transactions the larger items were put through on the new credit agreement and the remainder of the items were put through on the store card that was apparently "Discontinued".
So to cut a long story short payments had been coming out of my account on a monthly basis that was covering what I thought to be all the balance, but they had been sending letters for monthly installments to my old house that I didn't receive. The payments that were missed were only tiny like £4-£5 pcm but now i have incurred a few months of late payments and no doubt has destroyed my credit rating.
Where do I stand on this..?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Do you now have two accounts ? - the store card account and the Interest-Free Credit or Buy Now Pay Later credit account
and are you omitting to pay one of the accountsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Yes thats right, I have got a store card and they set me up a new account. The store card is buy now pay later but they said they were not been used anymore so they needed to apply for a new credit account for me. I thought this was going to be for all the purchases but instead they put the larger amount on the new account and it is debited from my bank account each month but the other I needed to ring up and pay for and as I was not receiving the statements I knew nothing about it untill now and 3 months of no payments have been added to my credit file!
I dont mind paying the balance off, I always have, but I was as I feel mis-lead when I was in the shop.
What can I do... I have the address to write to complain to them but I need good material to include in the letter as I am not very knowledgeable in this area...
Thanks
Hope this clears things up0 -
Anyone out there fit to give me some advice?
Thanks0 -
Compain in line with their formal complaints procedure and send the letter reocrded delivery.
You don't need any good "material" just tell them what happened (names & dates if you have them) as you have told us.0 -
Hi,
Thanks for the reply! OK I will do that. If they agree with me are they able to remove this from my credit rating? Has anyone had any experience of companies removing such 'markers'?
Thanks0
