Mortgage advice couple one good credit one bad.

Hi girls and guys!
The question is in the title.I'll try to keep this short and sweet.
I am moving in with my partner in a couple of months,he owns the property and I am just going to pay him cash towards the mortgage/bills etc.
Anyway he has a small 2 bed flat and we would like to get a bigger place together a house with a garden, maybe late this year/early next year.
My problem is-Ive never had a mortgage before,I have really bad previous credit.Although now I earn good money and pay everything on time, the very poor credit still effects my ability to borrow as it is not all that long ago I cleaned up my act so to speak!
My partner on the other hand currently owns his property and has the best credit anyone could wish for.
We both have a combined earning around £80-90k a year.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,as I would hate my past to stop us buying a bigger home together and would like to know where we stand with this.

Thank you in advance
R xx

please delete this, there is no need to have 2 threads the exact same in house buying and mortgage section. Keep the mortgage section one
