    Good point.

I am in the process of appying, after being diagnosed with rapid cycling bi polar, I have recieved a letter from DLA to state they have written to pdoc.

Regarding the care needs for a futher 6 months - to my understanding mediciation can not erradicate all of the problems that come with this illness. Assuming that the other person has been prescribed mood stabilzers - this will only treat the manic episodes and not the depression. Furthermore it is well noted that bi polar brings a whole host of other issues with it ( anxiety problems, paranoia etc etc.) and again these things need 1 to 1, shrink intervention, Cognive Behaviour therepy, talk therepy etc.

For instance I suffer from acute paranoia, during both manic and depressive cycles, I get panic attacks frequently too.

Unfortunatly there isnt a magic pill we can take to make these things go away, and there seems to be a real lack of understanding with this illness - even with medical professionals!

Furthermore even with medication - there can be some nasty side effects, which in my eyes can be part of the care element.
