Wheel Clamp - Private

I have been clamped by a private wheel clamp company. It has been there for 2 weeks because I could not afford the original £75 fine and now that has rocketed to £250. I simply cannot afford it and it runs the risk of plunging me into debt if I put it on my credit card at 21.9%.
I have spoken to the office and they did not offer any solution other than towing it away or me paying.
What do I do?

Pay and never park on private land again.0

There was a woman on our local TV who took one of these companies to court and won her money back.
Now we will have people parking wherever they want, including private land - where she was parked.
Perhaps I could suggest the company park their cars on her drive way?I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0 -
It is where I live, right outside where I live. There is nowhere to park expect there. 3 miles away is the nearest place and that costs £150 a year.0

Did you know it was private land?0 -
Are there clearly marked warning signs?
You'd be better posting this on the

at the top of the page

It is University land, the fine was £250 i have put it on my credit card, the people were very aggressive, I wasn't expecting that at a University. Told me how they used to be police and shouted at me.
They don't even appear to be following the BPAs guidelines, which was also a surprise.0 -
If it is University land and you are a student studying at the same university then you are likely to have been clamped by their own security officers (I know this is done at Bham Uni).
Appeal all clampings, tickets and towings in writing - phone calls never work and they can deny ever receiving your call. Also there must be signage to say that clampings take place if you park your car there.0 -

It won't have been a "fine".
Only the courts can fine you not some private company.0
