I have never had, nor ever heard of anyone else having, yorkshire puddings with a Christmas dinner. Perhaps it's a regional thing, however, now you've mentioned it I might just give it a try, I love yorkies.

  • It's only at Christmas that my family are allowed yorkies with any meat other than beef, I'm an old traditionalist that way but until they can make them for themselves that's the way it'll stay :p

I watched Superscrimpers last night and loved the ransom note - they could ave used some crimbo paper as a backing to make it look a bit better that wouldn't have added much to the cost.

Or in the case of one of my aunts not even bothering to rewrap in fresh paper-my cousin got the socks that his mother had given to my aunts husband. She'd just put a fresh gift tag on!
I have an aunt who would give crumpled up old gift vouchers tucked into a card and odd unwrapped presents like her scratched old costume jewellery or men's wooley gloves to a 10yo girl. Was a bit odd, not like she is hard up in the slightest and her and her kids always had designer clobber and gadgets.

Think yorkies with xmas dinner is a regional thing. Like bread sauce- I mentioned it to a group of friends and the only other one who knew what it was was from yorkshire. The southerners were very confused.

The first time I had bread sauce was when I lived in Devon, never had it when I was growing up, now we always have it at christmas - my dinner is an interesting mush of gravy, cranberry and bread sauce:)

tbh I use ready made yorkies as well, we all like them squidgy rather than crispy so heat them in the microwave:o
