Usually just something like a turkey and ham pie and a turkey curry and a turkey salad, but though I don't normally like cold meats that much in the days after christmas I seem too!

  • I think I'll make some up ready for Christmas eve - to be honest I doubt there will be any left after boxing day anyway lol! I will keep it in the fridge I think just to be on the safe side.

Hi there, just want to mention that if you keep it in an airtight sealed bottle and refrigerate it should keep upto 2 months....

However if you are like us (and it's Christmas :D) then more likely an hour or so !

I love the cookies with the boiled sweets in the middle; a nice gift for a neighbour or something.

    I liked them too.
I found the woman who was cooking Christmas Lunch for £50 rather irritating TBH. When she said 'how do I turn this into a Christmas Lunch' I just thought 'stop moaning woman'. I noticed there was still a load of wasted food on the plates afterwards. if people can't eat everything dished up then you've cooked too much.

i enjoyed the programme...i thought the turkey carry on was not for us....i wouldnt want to eat turkey 5 days running i suppose u could freeze it but i think ill just buy a smaller one...i found the christmas dinner for £50 a bit misleading in a way...didnt like the way it was straight to the cheapest turkey and lunch isnt really the whole picture imo...what about breakfast/tea/extra teabags milk wine spirits for guests...what about boxing day ? i must be too generous a host:eek:[/QUOTE

Yep - my folks are coming and its all the extra cereal, bread, milk adn tea for 3 days that really adds to the cost no just the meal. mum asked what she coudl bring so I asked her to buy the christmas eve ham (£18 form aldi) and to bring extra bread and milk.

My dinner will probs just come in just under £50 but plenty of turkey lo -
