FLV to DVD

Hi
I have some FLV files on my pc which I am trying to burn onto a DVD-R disc that can be played on an ordinary DVD player.
The FLV files play fine when viewed on my computer, but every time I've tried to burn them onto a DVD-R disc, the images are jumpy, or they freeze etc.
I read online that this is usually due to poor quality DVD discs and so I've tried several types but this makes no difference. I've also read that this problem can be due to burning too fast. So I've adjusted the burn speed to a slower one, but this has not cured the problem either.
The burning software I have tried has been free software, because money is a bit tight right now. I've tried several different free burning softwares but none of these have rectified the problem.
Could anyone help please?
Thanks

I suspect you will have to do some conversion of the FLV files before burning, as an ordinary DVD player may not understand the flash files.0

Thank you all for your replies. Converting the files before burning them seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks!0

My savings from money off coupons for 2007 = £67.97, for 2008 = £194.79
My £2 savings for 2009 (so far) = £130
My savings from money off coupons for 2009 = £593.08
