Hi -we have accepted offer on our home and our buyers want us out quickly-ok we will do somehow.
Our purchase not ready for approx 4 weeks so we will have to move to temporary holiday let or Days Inn type and store our furniture etc.
my question is what do I do re car insurance as we will be effective homeless and no permanent address .
Any suggestions appreciated thanks.

Surely you just went on holiday for 4 weeks ? I can't see it mattering for such a short time.
Anyway, probably better to ask this in the motoring forum.0 -
I hadn't ever thought of this problem. Could you get temporary insurance just for the month you are between homes, based on your address at that time?0

Also need to consider personal possessions, credit cards, banks etc etc.
What do you inofmr them as basically you are "homeless"
As it will only be 3-4 weeks what do you do ?
Different when normal straight forward move to your purchse property, but when in holiday rent or other ?0 -
thinking about it even more -change of cars address docs, bank, credit cards ,docs etc etc.,HMRC and so on
Would they accept a temp address for example Travelodge or Holiday rent for 3-4 weeks as the old address will no longer be valid .
Seems to be a nightmare , is not as if renting for 6 months.
Any one any ideas or experienced this "in between homes"?0 -
I think maybe you are getting yourself too stressed about it - as long as you have arrangements for your redirecting your post, I don't think banks, credit cards etc would expect you to notify a temporary address for just a month or so.0

Banks and credit card companies won't accept a temporary address, such as a hotel or B&B..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -

Absolutely nothing seems reasonable to me. If you have a handy family member, perhaps redirect post and that would be it.
by the time you've informed everyone, and they've updated their records, you'll be writing to them again to inform them of your permanent address. What goes around - comes around0 -
I would speak to your motor insurer to see what they suggest. For mail there are a number of options to consider: short term redirection, Keepsafe, PO Box. However, your best bet may be to go into a Post office and ask what they would recommend. I wouldn't tell any organisation about a change of address until you are in the new house.0
