ASU Cover - Can I do this?

Hi,
I'm being made redundant in a weeks time and will be making a claim under my Accident, Sickness and Unemployment policy to cover our mortgage payments. We're going to relocate down to Cambridgeshire by September (no jobs yet) and will have to rent a property down there initially until we've worked with a new employer for about 3 months before we qualify for another mortgage.
My question is, can I sell my current house and continue to claim my ASU cover and use it to pay our rent in Cambridgeshire?
