Freezing a Birthday Cake

I just bought a birthday cake reduced in tesco. It is a sponge cake with jam and buttercream filling.Covered in soft icing. I was wondering can i freeze it for my daughters birthday in December.Thanks .

You could remove the icing and still freeze the cake! You could then buy a 'roll' of icing nearer the time and decorate as you fancy.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
