My dog doesnt seem to mind what we do so long as we are together! I think its just the general interaction that they like. I got her a ring and roll it along the floor and she seems pretty pleased with herself when she gets it

Is this for the Good Citizen's Award? I used to play with a tuggie toy with Oakley, sort of offer, both pull, say leave it and then he drops it and off we go again. I seem to remember we didnt have to do it for too long, but so long as you get the dog nice and excited but ensure that as soon as you say 'drop' or 'leave' that he obeys immediately. Then lots of praise and off you go again!
Oops just seen that you have to play without a toy! maybe teach him to crawl very slowly until you say 'up' when you release him... make him wait for it.0 -
Yes, it's for the Good Citizens Award - Silver.0

You can always teach your dog it's left from it's right, using a different treat on each side.
You can use this when out walking or for hide and seek etcIt aint over til I've done singing....0 -
When we did the Good Citizen's Award (Silver) we were allowed toys to play with the dog. I used a tuggie with the leave command... get him all excited with a 'wait for it....' then let him have it...
It really isn't a long exercise though. Just about making a fuss of him, and having a bit of a play without him getting out of control.0
