Clumsy cat strikes again

My housemate has windows that open sideways (if that makes sense) and apparently the cat has walked out onto the windowsil, tried to turn around and walk back in and fallen (NOT jumped) from the first floor "onto a load of leaves and stuff" (I wasn't in at the time, housemates words) anyway apparently at first he seemed fine but now he's limping quite a lot and holding his paw upto his chest. Do you think I should rush him to the vets or keep an eye on him for a few days and take him if he's still limping then?
He's still walking and jumping small heights but he whimpered before when jumping off the chair.
Thanks in advance for any advice

Doesn't sound serious then, but for peace of mind I'd get him looked at, just in case. He might be grateful for the cat equivalent of ibuprofen.

Have you managed to have a look at it? Maybe he's got something in his paw if he landed in twigs etc. Or he might have bruised it when he landed on it. Doesn't sound broken or anything if he's still jumping round but get it checked out if you're worried. Hope he feels better soon x0

I'd personally get him looked at, My Cat Moss jumped from the 3rd storey window when he was 11 weeks old, needed pins in his back legs etc, was a nightmare, would still try and jump out now.
Roy sneaked into the kitchen and jumped from the first when he was one, he was fine, but still got him looked at for peace of mind.
My hubby said, don't be daft cat's aren't stupid they don't jump out of windows!!!0 -
Sorry, but straight to the vets. The cat appears to be in pain and needs to be checked over. If it's not serious great and some painkillers will help which the vet will prescribe but if it is serious then the vet will advise. Far better to be safe than sorry. I hope the cat is ok.0

Get him to the vets 1st thing. From past experiences, that's the best thing to do.DFD February 2012

One of mine fell out like that, first floor but on concrete below.
Limped for an hour but was fine after that....
And who said cats always land safely on 4 paws?0
