    I'm there frequently Emma!!!

To the OP - sorry I can't be of much help to you re the registry office style venues in the middle. Obviously Gretna is right on the border but it may not be the right type of venue for you. I don't know much about the various places in the main corrider there but Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth etc are all in the middle for you, I'm sure there will be plenty others on the boards that can help.x

Lothian chambers in Edinburgh is gorgeous! Right on the royal mile as well, so plenty of places to go eat afterwards.
South queensferry office is supposed to be really nice, with windows overlooking the forth, and a few nice hotels and restaurants next to it.
Just outside dundee is Broughty Ferry castle, they do a fixed price which I think is under £400 and includes flowers and the registrar, its next to the beach, and is really lovely.
As someone else mentioned Perth office is really nice, but might be a little big for your guests.
Dont bother with Dundee, its on a road next to loads of bus stops and not very nice inside.
    Hope that helps.

    Thanks so much Lindsey

Has really just assumed we would do a registry office because we're just having a small do but Broughty Ferry Castle looks fantastic and still very affordable.
    Definitely broadened my thoughts!

Can you not pick a hotel and get married there? A friend of mine was married in a hotel in Perth and they used the outside rose gardens which was lovely. Everyone was watching, champagne in hand and it had a really lovely feel to the ceremony. I can't remember the the name of the hotel but it is a big country house place outside of Perth with long gravel paths, small and large garden areas for pics and a nice indoor bit for eating, drinking and dancing!
If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!

Love visiting Nairn, lovely part of the world. Tilda Swinton is from there!

It's not so lovely today, dull and grey and cold! Had to dodge the rain showers when I took the dog for a walk at lunchtime!
