Close Brothers Finance

I have been trying to open a savings account with Close Brothers for a 3 year savings plan.
I have recieved several letters confirming my details are correc,t but so far have been unable to transfer any funds.
Can anyone tell me if they are still accepting funds for their 3 year deals.

As Quoted from the Close Brothers website:
As from the close of business on 14th March 2011, the 18 month and 3 year fixed term fixed rate products paying 4% and 5% AER are no longer available.
If you have a query about an existing application you have made for these products please call 020 7392 1772.

If you would like to be notified about future products please contact our Client Services team on 020 7655 3416.
So it looks like you may need to call them as you have applied already (hopefully before it was withdrawn!)

If they haven't received your funds it is highly unlikely they will accept your application.

My understanding is that you needed to send the money with the application (BACS, CHAPS or cheque).

I sent off my application with a cheque on the 11th and it is now in the pending transactions page for tomorrow (25th), so it does take a while for them to process!!

    Hi.
I am also having problems with Close Brothers.
I understand how you could send a cheque with an application but surely you must have an account open before you can do a BACS transfer. Or am I being dim?

    From their application form :
BACS/CHAPS electronic transfers should be sent to our direct Sort Code 16-51-87 quoting “Account No. 20009464” and reference“your surname and postcode”.
(as long as you send it to their account with your surname and postcode in the reference field, you could fund via BACS. They then match up this payment with your application form)
If you were applying for the 18month 4% or 3 year 5% bond then the applications closed on 14th March.

When did you send the application, mine took 2 weeks before I heard anything. If you have been waiting longer or are unsure of your application then I would recommend giving them a call.

The ones I applied for recently were - Close Savings Premium Gold (18 month 4% fix & the 3 year 5% fix) although I sent cheques in with my application form in the post to them, you did have the option of funding the accounts via Bacs or Chaps.

According to the Close Savings Premium Gold - Guidance Notes that I printed of at the time of applying, it states:
Bacs or CHAPS electronic transfers should be sent to "Close Brothers Limited" using our direct Sort Code 16-51-87, quoting "Account No. 10000668" and referencing "your surname and postcode".

*After seeing the above post by AndyC85, please note these electronic paying in details were taken from their guidance notes for Close Savings Premium Gold, other Close Brothers accounts may have different sort code/account numbers.
Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk
