travel insurance

I sent our passports off to a visa agent to process our visas on 9 March. Due to their inefficiency for more than a week (not passing on the correct details to the agent who was submitting the visas (I was not aware of this until this Wednesday); not giving the agent my correct contact details) and then the bank/embassy payment system being down for the past week, I now have only 5 working days ahead of me before we are due to travel. My tickets are not flexible and I don't think I can even pay an additional fee to alter the date.

My current annual travel insurance with Endsleigh ends on 30 March and I haven't yet taken out a new policy as I am assuming that I will not be able to be re-insured as I am aware of this potential reason to have to cancel my travelling. Am I right to assume this? I have also looked at the wording on the Endsleigh policy and can only seem to find cancellation rights due to illness, death etc

Advice please.

Can't you make your visa within 24 hours if you pay additional fees to expedite it? Where is it for?

No, it is not possible to speed things up and the problem is with the BANK payment system which is the ONLY way for payments to be made.

If the worst happens look to suing the agent for your losses.

Generally speaking you would not be able to claim cancellation due to you not being able to get the correct visa's in time,
