Winter Fuel Allowance To Be Reduced

"Most of those aged 60-79 will get £200 instead of last year's £250 when the payment is made in November or December. Those who are 80 or older will get £300 instead of £400."

It was on the card that we'd lose it, anyway. Wasn't the extra £50 a temporary measure?

    the extras are tempoarary measures.

In effect the winter fuel payment has not been cut as it has always been £200 and £300, but the last couple of years there has been extra, but a lot of people assume that it is the normal amount, which means it will be fun in November when people realise and phone up to complain!;)

Wouldn't be so bad if Ofgen actually regulated the power companies properly and stopped them profiteering.
