"Most of those aged 60-79 will get £200 instead of last year's £250 when the payment is made in November or December. Those who are 80 or older will get £300 instead of £400."

It was on the card that we'd lose it, anyway. Wasn't the extra £50 a temporary measure?Member #14 of SKI-ers club

the extras are tempoarary measures.
In effect the winter fuel payment has not been cut as it has always been £200 and £300, but the last couple of years there has been extra, but a lot of people assume that it is the normal amount, which means it will be fun in November when people realise and phone up to complain!;)0 -
That means my friend will have his "christmas drinks money" as he calls it reduced this year !!0

Wouldn't be so bad if Ofgen actually regulated the power companies properly and stopped them profiteering.0
